Minutes of the Council Meeting held at Hilary’s
Wednesday 6th November 2013
1. Present: Josh Fish, Janice Spindlow, Hilary Wrightman, Hazel Liddell, Janet Smart, Gill Mann
2. Apologies: Michael Merritt, Ann Haigh, Thea Ingham
3. Minutes of the last meeting in March were taken as read.
4. Matters arising:
Scatter week will be organised in March 2014.
Josh will contact prospective members.
From January there will be an evening meeting on the first Tuesday of the month starting 7 th January.
The website needs updating.
5. President’s report:
There are several members attending the Chigwell Christmas meeting on 17 th December. The breakfast meeting will be held as usual on this day.
The Orange Tree restaurant in Sawbridgewoth has been booked for 13 th December at 1 o’clock.
The President’s At Home will be on Sunday 1 st December at lunchtime.
6. Secretary – correspondence
The district quiz will be held in Theydon Bois on Tuesday 26 th November at 7.30. The team will be Bob, Hilary and Ann with Mike as reserve and scorer.
7. Treasurer: No report.
On fifth Tuesdays, the breakfast monies will be given to the hosts of a fellowship evening or be used to offset the costs of a restaurant visit.
When members sign up for attendance of an event on behalf of themselves or others, they are responsible for paying for the event in the case of late cancellation.
Mike will be asked to fund a case of 12 bottles of wine to be given to Stephen Ford for printing the club directories and the flyers for the Xmas Fair.
8. Events for the year:
Quiz at the Old Chigwellians club on 7th November in aid of the Syrian refugee crisis. Refreshments – Ploughman’s
Christmas Fair on 16 th November – A sub-
Xmas collections – Morrisons collection on 7 th December. Collection at George Lane Station on 10 th and 18 th December between 5 and 7 pm.
Dinner Dance at West Essex Golf Club – February
Joint event with Harlow Tye – afternoon tea at the Davison’s.
9. Service projects/Community: Janice will contact Chigwell and Loughton and Buckhurst Hill Clubs to see if they can help with running the shop at Jubilee Lodge 9.30 – 11.30 two or three times per week.

12. Club Administration – No report
13. District: Ann attended the last District meeting.
14. Any other business: Ann has suggested that we contribute items to the Debden food bank this Christmas.
15. The next council meeting will be on Wednesday 15 th January 2014.
