About us

The Rotary Club of Roding is a small friendly club with a great track record. We gained our charter in 1992 and belong to the  North-East Area of the London District of Rotary.

We meet on Monday evenings at the Queen Victoria in Theydon Bois (CM16 7ES), which serves great beer and food at a reasonable price. We meet at 6.30pm for a 7pm start and usually have a guest speaker on the first and third Monday of the month. On the second Monday we have our monthly business meeting and on the fourth Monday we have an informal open evening where members can bring family and friends along and anyone interested in finding out about Rotary or just joining us for a pint is very welcome. If you think you might be interested in joining us, why not come along to an open evening and get to know us.

As a Rotary club we have several clear aims:
  • to enjoy each other's company in an atmosphere of friendship and fellowship
  • to be good citizens helping our local community
  • to do what we can to improve international relationships
  • to raise money for deserving causes both in Britain and abroad

As well as our meetings, we also arrange theatre visits, guided walks and outings to places of interest. And once a year we arrange a weekend away together. Past destinations have included Krakow, Cornwall, Amsterdam and the Beamish Open Air Museum in Co. Durham.

Among the many causes we have supported recently are:

  • Riding For the Disabled
  • Kids Out
  • Jubilee Lodge
  • Revitalise
  • Little Heath School
  • Eye Camps
  • Shelter Box
  • Memory CafĂ©

Above all we have joined Rotarians throughout the world in ridding all nations of the scourge of Poliomyelitis.  And we've nearly done it. Come and help us make Polio history.
If you would like to get to know us, text the President, Friddy Bishai, on 07764 662001 and she will send you a link to our meeting.
